Last night, Bandera ISD released a statement regarding a “rumor circulating among some students about a possible school shooting at the Bandera High School.”
BISD Superintendent Gary Bitzkie stated the district is taking the matter “very seriously and taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff.” Bitzkie further stated the rumor, as of the time of the press release, was “unsubstantiated and there is no credible evidence to suggest that there is any imminent danger to our school.”
Security on the high school campus will be increased today as law enforcement continues to investigate the potential threat. Security may be increased tomorrow, as well. School will break Friday for the Easter holiday.
