Star Steppers raising funds to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade

By Jessica Nohealapa’ahi
The Bandera Prophet

The Bandera High School Star Steppers have been invited to perform at the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. To get there, the students need a little help.
The Raise Craze fundraiser is an online avenue the community can use to donate money to help pay for uniforms, competition entry fees, costumes, practice clothes and supplies.
“This year the team has earned an invitation to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. These hardworking young ladies accomplished this by earning a Platinum rating at a Hill Country Regional Dance Competition. They aspire to represent Bandera County and become a part of American history in the most watched parade in the USA,” BHS Star Steppers Director Regina Johnston said.
All donors who contribute will be mentioned on social media and thank you emails; those who give $100 or more will have their names on the Star Steppers’ banner that will be on display in the Bulldog stadium this fall. All donations are tax deductible.
Those interested may donate sponsor incentives (i.e. gift cards or services). Contact Regina Johnston at rjohnston@banderaisd2.net for more information.
Other ways to donate include:

“When our young ladies become Star Steppers, they learn what it takes to build relationships in Bandera County and truly become a sweetheart of the Cowboy Capital of the World,” Johnston said.
