Bandera Bulldogs JV Baseball recap
On Monday, April 3, the Bulldogs hosted the Wimberley Texans. Payson Mangold started on the mound for the Bulldogs. Third baseman Kenai Jerome stopped an early base hit, throwing to first baseman Braidyn Lynch who tagged the runner for the Bulldog’s first out.
At the bottom of the second, the Texans were ahead by 4, when Jerome slid home earning a run for the Bulldogs.
Braiden Franklin pitched the third and part of the fourth inning, followed by Kelton Raab who closed the fourth and continued to pitch the fifth and final inning.
Although the Bulldogs struggled to bring runners home, aggressive fielding by Hayden Winters and Beto Rodrigues in the outfield, and a good infield defense held the Texans at bay. The ending game score was 7-1.
The Bulldogs will host Davenport on Tuesday, April 11, at 4 p.m. Varsity will follow at 6:30 p.m.
