Lakehills library offers art and a garage sale

The Lakehills Area Library is featuring the art of Laura White this month. Her paintings are inspired by the wonderful views she experiences from her studio overlooking Medina Lake. She has a special love of our Texas Hill Country.
“I started painting as a hobby when I was little. I didn’t know I had any talent. I believe talent is just a pursued interest,” she said.
White is a mom and grandma who put her studies on hold to raise her kiddos. With her nine children grown, and the pandemic lockdown, she has seriously pursued her painting full time.
White is a native Texan and a Lakehills resident. She, and the library, invites the public to enjoy her art until May 13, when a new exhibit will be installed.
The Lakehills Area Library is currently seeking vendors for their annual Community Garage Sale to take place on Saturday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The library has booth space available, starting at $20, both inside the building and outside under the porch overhang.
This event is always well attended. It is a garage sale, where one can sell almost anything. Call it “spring cleaning.”
For more information on the Garage Sale, or to rent a space, go by the library at 7200 FM 1283 or call them at 830-510-2777. Their hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
