Edith Faye Kriedler
November 9, 1935 ~ June 7, 2023
Our beloved mother, grandmother and GG, Edith Faye Kriedler, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 7, 2023.
Edith was born to Everett F. Nicks and Lessie Pearl Clark Nicks on Nov. 9, 1935 in Obion County, Tenn. She grew up closely knit with her sister, Mary Kathline. As a young adult, Edith was set up on a blind date where she would meet the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Francis Marion Kriedler. They wed in a large ceremony on June 6, 1959 after dating for a short time.
Together they traveled the world with their four children while Frank served in the Army. The couple moved to Bandera in 1983, where they finished raising their children. Both worked at Medina Children’s home for more than a decade. Edith found great joy in working alongside her husband. Together they also worked for Bandina Christian Youth Camp until they retired.
“Faye,” as most knew her, was a beloved member of the Medina Church of Christ. Having resided on the “hill” at Camp Bandina for 40 years, she had many friends in the community. Faye was widely recognized for her sewing skills and even recently could be found sewing new curtains for the camp.
Her favorite name was GG, as she was called by her great grandkids and great-great grandkids.
Edith Faye Kriedler is proceeded in death by her husband Francis M. Kriedler; parents Everett and Lessie Nicks; and sister Mary Kathline.
Edith is survived by her children, Melody Kriedler, Elaine Stotts and husband Micky Schwalm, Wendy Grams, Tracie Reeves and husband Brandon; her grandchildren, Derek Deroches and wife Tessiere, Delina Feist and husband Seth, Darien Long and husband Tommy, Thomas Wheatly and fiancé Kaliegh, Austin Wheatly, Lacie Grams, Cooper Reeves, Alexa Reeves and Sierra Reeves; great grandchildren Bella Deroches, Taylor Everhart, Saige Huffman, Judas Feist, Takoda Feist, Ellis Long and Blake Long; great-great grandchild Silas Barton and many more extended family and friends.
Memorial services to be held June 17, at 11 a.m., Springtown Church of Christ 196 Stringtown Road, Medina. Reception to follow.
