Bandera Natural History Museum commemorates seventh anniversary with dino-themed celebration

More than 100 people filled the Bandera Natural History Museum International Hall on Saturday to watch Dinosaur George talk about the prehistoric behemoths that once roamed the earth, some of which were immortalized at the museum seven years ago, when the doors first opened to the public.
Celebrating its anniversary with a gala of dinosaur-themed food and activities, the museum once again pulled out all the stops, hosting face painting, balloon twisting, dino appearances and tours, and arts and crafts.
The Bandera Natural History Museum, a nonprofit organization, opened in June 2016. Contained inside the 18,000-square-foot facility is an exhibit of international taxidermy from Africa, Asia, Australia and North America; artifacts from Latin America, Africa and Asia; and an original collection of New Spain art that includes paintings, sculptures, pottery and other fine antiques.
On July 8, the museum will host Gladius, an award-winning composer and accomplished classical/flamenco guitarist. Tickets are available online at www.banderanhm.org, and in person at the museum front desk. For more information on this and other upcoming events, go to https://www.facebook.com/BanderaNHM.
