Authorities have arrested a suspect after discovering two dead bodies in a home on Wharton’s Dock Road.
According to Bandera County Chief Deputy Matt King, neighbors yesterday evening reported a putrid odor coming from a home in the 8700 block of Wharton’s Dock Road. When deputies arrived, King said they saw someone through a window lying on a bed with “obvious head trauma.”
After entering the home, King said investigators found a male and female body lying on a bed in the master bedroom, both severely decomposed with blunt force trauma to their heads and faces. King said the suspect was later found in another room in the house.
He said the suspect, a 28-year-old male who is believed to be a resident of the home, refused to speak to deputies, and has not spoken to investigators. The victims’ names are not being released until they are positively identified.
“It’s a pretty grizzly scene. The damage was so bad you couldn’t recognize them,” King said, adding it was unknown how long ago they died. “Several days, if not weeks ago. The medical examiner will be able to give a time of death.”
As of Saturday morning, the suspect had not been magistrated and is being held in the Bandera County Jail. He has been charged with two counts of murder.
