Three juveniles driving two cars reported stolen from Bandera River Ranch early Saturday morning have been identified.
According to Bandera County Chief Deputy Matt King, a suspicious vehicle was reported Sept. 9, at 3:05 a.m., by a resident of the Bandera subdivision. King said when a deputy first patrolled the area, he did not see anything out of the ordinary, however he returned at around 4:30 a.m., and pursued two vehicles matching the description of cars reported stolen.
King said the chase continued south toward Hondo, at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The Hondo Police Department and Medina County Sheriff’s Office joined the high-speed pursuit, losing one vehicle but apprehending the sole occupant of a Jeep Cherokee. King said the teenage male driving the Jeep was transported to the San Antonio Juvenile Detention Center.
Later in the morning, King said the second vehicle reported stolen, a Dodge Charger, was located. Another pursuit ensued at speeds exceeding 120 mph. The vehicle crashed and two juvenile males - one of Bandera County, one of San Antonio - were apprehended. King said one juvenile escaped, but has been identified.
Authorities urge homeowners to lock their vehicles, and not leave valuables inside their cars overnight.
