Bandera Middle School volleyball takes on Del Rio; 7th Grade A and B teams finish strong with victories

8th Grade A Team
The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Del Rio to take on the Queens. It was a hard fought close first set with these ladies. We lost 24-26. The second set we struggled with our communication and passing, ending the match with a score of 5-25. Throughout the game every player pushed themselves and tried to get us back in tempo. Overall it’s good to see the progress in this team despite the outcome.

8th Grade B Team
In an enthralling encounter, Bandera 8th Grade B Team engaged in a fierce volleyball match against Del Rio, demonstrating commendable skill and teamwork. Although they played exceptionally well, they unfortunately succumbed to their rivals in the thrilling third set. Leighann Spangler was a standout player for Bandera, leading the team with her ace serve, with assists coming from Karlee Hamilton, Krista Goldstein, Ella Vollmer and Blake Waid, forming a dynamic quartet that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Additionally, Gracelyn Upton, Aubrie Moore, Olivia Walker, Emma Rynarzewski and Kylie Hall displayed remarkable defensive prowess with some awe-inspiring digs, contributing significantly to the match's exciting moments and showcasing the team's undying spirit and resilience.
7th Grade A Team
7th grade A Team powered up to finish the first round strong. They beat Del Rio in two sets: 25-12 & 25-16. We are starting to trust ourselves and our team and playing some really good volleyball. Our front row did awesome calling for the ball with attacks from Brooke 7, Madison 3, Blu 2, Gracen 2, Brylyn 2. Serving was a strong part of the game. We had aces from Brooke, Brylyn, Elle, Hadley, Gracen and Blu. I am so proud of how well these girls played together, and I am even more excited to see them progress this second round!
7th Grade B Team
7B Lady Bulldogs played against Del Rio on Monday night, winning the game in two sets!
The first set was a close game that was led by successful serves from Kendall Schmitt and Makensie Clay. Maikenna Ybarra brought the spark on the court that pushed the girls to play at their full potential. Molly Dawson has also improved in her passing and her court awareness that helped the team in crucial moments while at the net. The team won the set 25-23.The second set was led by Brylee Phillips that led in successful serves and great passes over the net that kept the game in constant play. Makayla Clay has also shown her improvement in her serving as well during the game. Khloe Martinez adjusted her passing and was able to save volleyballs from dropping on the court. The team won the final set 25-17.
The whole team improved on their on-court communication and celebrations off the bench that gave the girls the confidence they needed to secure the win. 7B now sits at 4-1 and looks forward to playing against Pearsall on Monday.
