Brett Hicks announces for Bandera City Council
Since 1951, my family has called Bandera home. Some of my best childhood memories were created here: riding horses with my father in the hills, swimming and tubing in the Medina River, and playing quarterback for the 2002 State Championship Bulldogs. My family’s business is here; my church is here, and my community of friends is here. After attaining a Business degree from Sam Houston State University, my passion for our community motivated me to return to Bandera with my wife to raise our 3 children in a place where we are committed to its future.
Bandera is more than a city; it is a lifestyle. I agree with citizens who want to keep Bandera authentic to its rich Cowboy history. We are a town with personality and great potential. I am completely invested in Bandera, nodding to its past, contributing in its present, and working to cultivate its promising future.
As Corporate Account Manager of a Fortune 200 company, I have the expertise to identify the needs of my community and to formulate plans for improvement, while also considering tax rates and the economic climate. I understand the importance of service leadership, respecting the opinions of others, and collaborating with a team; and I would welcome the opportunity to engage with Bandera citizens and to represent their voices.
Whether I am serving on an advisory board for my family’s tourism business or volunteering as a coach for my children’s youth sports teams, I have a multifaceted knowledge of what is important to Bandera citizens. Citizens have shared their concerns with me about the increasing tax rates, city leadership turnover, safety, and road conditions. Addressing these concerns while balancing the annual city budget requires a conservative perspective and comprehensive business experience.
I want to engage in strategic planning to ensure Bandera’s future is economically stable, community driven, and innovative with its resources. I appreciate your consideration and would be honored to have your vote for city council.
