A great night for Bulldog Volleyball

By Coach Amanda F. Nelson-Green

8th Grade A Team
Your Lady Bulldogs hosted the Pearsall Dogies for the second round of district play. These ladies came out strong in set one, winning a nail biter with a score of 25-23. In set two, we struggled to shake off some nerves and fell short 23-25. We were able to bounce back and win the third set 15-9. I am so proud of all the hard work the girls have been putting in. They fought as a team and trusted each other through the process. This week we are going to continue to work on movement and communication and will be ready to travel to Devine Wednesday to round up the Fillies after a restful fall break.
Stats recorded are:  Serving Aces: Addison Ashcraft: 11, Pyper Barnard: 6, Briley Clark: 6, Mckenna Jones: 2, Kolbie Lawlis: 1, Isabella Pace: 3 Digs: Addison Ashcraft: 1, Pyper Barnard: 1, Kinli Mcintosh: 3, Isabella Pace: 1, Mckenna Jones: 1, Haily Livingston: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 2, Taylor Marrs: 1 Kills: Pyper Barnard: 1, Mia Ranly: 1 Assists: Briley Clark: 6, Kinley Mcintosh: 3, Kolbie Lawlis: 2, Haily Livingston: 1, Mia Ranly: 2 Blocks: Pyper Barnard: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 1, Mia Ranly: 1.

8th Grade B Team
In last night's volleyball match, Bandera 8th grade B team faced off against Pearsal’s B team and emerged victorious. Blake Waid's impressive serving skills, Kylie Hall's precise digs, and Gracelyn Upton's powerful hitting kills were key factors in the win. The girls showcased exceptional communication and teamwork throughout the game, securing a well-deserved victory.

7th Grade A Team
7th Grade A Team had a tremendous showing of Serve Receive, winning in two sets 25-7 and 25-16. We have been practicing keeping our platform calm and our feet fast, and they made me proud. We held each Pearsall server under two serves. Every player had a pass up to our setter. We had great passes which led to many great sets from Blu and Gracen. We also had many attacks from our big hitters who are gaining confidence to keep swinging hard, and calling for their set. Attacks at the front row came from: Brooke, Brylyn, Gracen, Hadley, Rehnahta and Maddie. The future's looking bright for Bandera Volleyball. These girls will travel to Devine on Oct. 11 for a chance at redemption.

7th Grade B Team
7B Lady Bulldogs played against Pearsall Monday night, winning the game in two sets. The game was led by Makensie Clay with a total of 13 successful serves, and Maikenna Ybarra improved her serves and a total of 5. The first set was a landslide win with the score 25-8.
Pearsall came back to compete in the second set but the Lady Bulldogs pulled through with great effort from Kamilla Vazquez in the back row and Bentley O’Donnal with overall energy on the court. The second set was won 25-20. The team won their 5th game, bringing the record to 5-1 and look forward to playing against Devine next Wednesday.
