Bandera ISD grad and Navy sailor mobilized to Israel
Bandera native Tatiana Herrera Treviño has been mobilized on the U.S. Naval warship USS Roosevelt to the Eastern Mediterranean this week.
U.S. Secretery of Defense Lloyd Austin said the United States will send multiple military ships and aircraft closer to Israel. Austin said he ordered the moving of the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, which includes the carrier, a guided missile cruiser and four guided missile destroyers, including the USS Roosevelt.
Herrera Treviño joined the U.S. Navy in 2019, two weeks after graduating from Bandera High School. In 2022, Herrera Treviño, Information System Technician Second Class, re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy for another four years.
Her mother, Patti Herrera, has invited the community to show support and wear R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) every Friday, until she comes home. Send the photos to her at https://www.facebook.com/patti.herrera, and she will forward them to Tatiana.
