Bandera Middle School Lady Bulldogs fall to Carrizo Springs, prep for final home game of the season

By Coach Amanda F. Nelson-Green
Girls Physical Education/Athletics
Bandera Middle School

8th Grade A Team
Monday night your 8th graders traveled to Carrizo Springs for a volleyball match. In Set 1 we came out pumped and ready to defeat the Lady Cats but were tangled up 15-25. Pyper Barnard was on fire with 2 stuff blocks and Kinli Mcintosh was killing it on defense with 5 digs.
In Set 2 we just couldn't shake the previous mental defeat and lost 8-25. Isabella Pace kept swinging hard on offense with Brynleigh Hauer and Mckenna Jones receiving each strong serve.
I am very excited about the progress the girls are making in understanding transitioning and I know that their court knowledge will continue to grow. The game is mostly mental and we are going to work on shaking off those jitters and stepping into the game this week.
Stats recorded are: Aces: Addison Ashcraft: 2, Kinli Mcintosh: 3, Briley Clark: 1 Digs: Addison Ashcraft: 1, Kinli Mcintosh: 7, Briley Clark: 1, Brynleigh Hauer: 4, Mckenna Jones: 4, Taylor Marrs: 1 Kills: Addison Ashcraft: 1, Pyper Bernard: 2, Kolbie Lawlis: 1, Haily Livingston: 1, Isabella Pace: 4 Assists: Kinli Mcintosh: 1, Briley Clark: 4, Brynleigh Hauer: 1, Kolbie Lawlis: 2, Taylor Marrs: 2, Mia Ranly: 1 Blocks: Pyper Bernard: 3
The Lady Bulldogs will take on Del Rio to wrap up the season on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Bandera High School. Come out and support our girls.

8th Grade B Team
Our 8th Grade B Team traveled to Carrizo Springs. A bit anxious and unsure, the girls started off with a fast 3 point trail behind the Lady Cats. Soon after a quick timeout and shaking off last minute jitters, we were back in the game and taking home the win. Leighann Spangler led in serves with an incredible 12 points to add to the books meanwhile Karlee Hamilton supported the team with her 2 kills with Kaylee Fried and her 4 assists.
This week we are going to continue to work on communication and movement as your Lady Bulldogs will be ready to take on the Del Rio Queens.

7th Grade B Team
The 7B girls volleyball team played against Carrizo Springs Monday night losing the game in two sets. The girls fought hard in the first set but fell short with a score of 11-24. During the second set our girls came out fighting and kept the game within reach 15-18. Bentley O'Donnal and Kamilla Vazquez did good work on chasing the ball to keep the game in play. Makayla Clay has also improved at the net with quick reactions to get the ball over. The team has one more game left in the season against Del Rio and are working hard to close out the season in a win.
