A printed voter guide for the 14 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution is available at the following locations in Bandera County: Bandera Library, Lakehills Community Center, Lakehills Library, Medina Library, and Silver Sage Community Center. The guide is nonpartisan and produced by the League of Women Voters of Texas and is distributed free of charge by the local League of Women Voters. The League does not oppose or support any of the amendments, but presents an explanation of each amendment and arguments for and against each amendment.
The League of Women Voters - Hill Country Texas has created a Bandera County Voter Guide with information on the November election, information on the school bonds for Bandera ISD and Utopia ISD, candidate information for two elections for the City of Bandera Mayor and City Council. Included is a one-page document listing the 14 amendments with a column for voters to make a note with their decision on each amendment. Since a cell phone is not allowed inside a polling location, a voter can mark their decision on each amendment and take the document into vote to make it easy to mark their ballot. The Bandera County Voter Guide is available at the same locations listed above. The Voter Guide for the 14 amendments and the Bandera County Voter Guide are available online at lwvhillcountrytexas.org.
The last day to request a ballot to vote by mail is Friday, Oct. 27. This deadline is described in the Texas Election Code with the actual date set by the Texas Secretary of State.
The application is available at the Kerr County Election Department website and can be printed out, completed with the voter signature, and mailed to the Bandera County Election Department at P.O. Box 1882 Bandera, TX 78003. The application to vote by mail must be RECEIVED at the county election department on or before Friday, Oct. 27. The Bandera County Election Department is located in Ray Mauer Annex for Bandera County Courthouse at 403 12th Street in Bandera.
