Bandera Middle School Lady Bulldogs wrap up volleyball season, 7th grade A team finishes with a win

By Coach Amanda F. Nelson-Green

Bandera Middle School

8th Grade A Team
The 8th grade A Team Lady Bulldogs ended their volleyball season with a loss to Del Rio in two sets, 9-25, 19-25. They fought and played great volleyball, but were unable to come up with rallies to win the game.
I am so proud of these girls and all of their hard work they have put in this season. They truly are a hard working group of young ladies and I can't wait to watch them continue on in high school.  They have been running the same gameplay as they will in high school, so they are already one step ahead. Although our record was the outcome we wanted, this has been an awesome year with a lot of heart and improvements across the team.
Thank you for an amazing season!

8th Grade B Team
This Saturday, the Bandera 8th grade B Team Volleyball team displayed commendable skills and determination in their face-off against Del Rio. Krista Goldstein and Karlee Hamilton stood out with their powerful serves, making it challenging for the opponents to gain an upper hand. Jasmine Longoria and Kaylee Fried made impressive contributions as well, showcasing their defensive prowess with a couple of remarkable digs that kept the team in contention.
Despite a powerful kill from Leighann Spangler that energized the team, Bandera unfortunately fell short, marking the end of a great season. The girls have every reason to hold their heads high, as they’ve shown tremendous growth and sportsmanship throughout their journey.

7th Grade A Team
7th grade A Team ended their season with a thrilling 3 set match. After losing the first set 22-25, we upped our confidence winning the next two sets 25-19 and 15-13. All season we have been improving our IQ of the game, and have become better volleyball players. We have learned so much in just a small amount of time and I owe that to our coachable girls. From our first game to now is a complete 180 with their movement on the court with their teammates.
I am so proud of the young athletes that they are becoming and the future is bright in Bandera!

7th Grade B Team
7B Girls Volleyball played their last game of the season this past Saturday against Del Rio coming up short in two sets. The team played hard in the first set and communicated well on the court but wasn’t in our favor as the final score was 25-13. The girls picked up their game in the second set keeping the score close to the very end. They did not give up and showed how hustle and good communication can make a big difference in a game. Unfortunately things did not come our way and the final score for the season was 25-23. Over the course of the whole season, the team won 6 games and lost 4. The girls ended the season as better volleyball players since their first practice and show the potential they have to grow into great athletes.
Extremely proud of all the girls: Cealy Billings, Maikenna Ybarra, Harley Randall, Kendall Schmidt, Grace Walker, Makensie Clay, Makayla Clay, Alivia Pack, Ava Thompson, Khloe Martinez,  Kamilla Vasquez, Molly Dawson, Bentley O'Donnal, and Brylee Phillips.
