Bandera High School pianist named All State Jazz Pianist
Last weekend, Bandera High School student David Padgett was named the Association of Texas Small School Bands All State Jazz Pianist. David competed with high school jazz pianists across the state of Texas, and won the first chair piano.
David plays percussion in the BHS Marching and Symphonic Bands, and plays piano in the BHS Jazz Band.
In September, David auditioned for the Region 29/32 Jazz Band and earned first chair on piano. He then advanced to Area. On Saturday, he was selected as the first chair piano player in the state.
This January, David will perform with the Region 29/32 Jazz Band. In February, David will perform with the All State Jazz Band in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators Convention.
