Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

Thursday is Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for all our patrons and the opportunity to serve this wonderful community every day. As library director, I am especially thankful for the smiling faces of children whose little voices and little feet pattering around the Children’s Library create a song that fills your cup. On behalf of everyone here at the library, Happy Thanksgiving! In celebration of the holiday, the library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.
Here is what is on tap for the library. Tuesday, Nov. 28, is the monthly Adult Basic Computer Class, at 4 p.m. Bring your technology questions and we will work through them together. We like to keep the class size small so be sure to give the library a call and register for the event.
Thursday, Nov. 30, is our bimonthly Macramé class, at 4 p.m., in the Texana Room. The library has limited supplies so feel free to bring your own rope in whatever color you like.
Attention all library lovers and book aficionados! The Friends of the Library group is looking for new volunteers to help with the monthly book fairs and to serve on the steering committee. Did you know the Friends of the Library raise all the funds used to build our library’s collection? They also raise funds to support the library’s programs for building literacy in children. It is a great way to give back to the community and support the library.  Consider becoming a Friends volunteer today.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available upon request. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on social media (@BanderaLibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
Happy tales, y’all.
