Bandera ISD coaches Cody Fields, Brady Keane and Jeremiah Silone were each selected to receive the state-sponsored Great Teachers Change Lives award. With the College Football Playoff championship game being played at NRG Stadium in Houston this January, the Houston Sports Authority has collaborated with the College Football Playoff Foundation to honor educators around the state who go the extra yard for their students in the classroom and on the playing field. This collaboration resulted in the Great Teachers Change Lives award. Educators were nominated for the award and the selection committee then selected those educators that would be honored.
Three Bandera ISD educators were selected, and they were presented their awards this week by Bandera County Association of Texas Professional Educators President John Milner.
Fields, Keane and Silone each received a College Football Playoff game ball, Great Teachers Change Lives T-shirt and a $50 gift card to use toward their classrooms.
