Schreiner University & Friends performed to a sold-out crowd on Sunday, when they ushered in the sounds of the season inside the Bandera Natural History Museum’s New Spain Art Hall.
Following an open house with champagne and hors d’oevres, provided by Suzanne and Larry Jackson, guests filed into the Art Hall for a treat of traditional Christmas songs, including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Feliz Navidad,” and classical holiday music, including “Sarabande” - Bach Cello Suite 2 and Handel’s Largo from “Xerxes”.
Performers were Brandon Pauley on vocals and trumpet; Susan Matteson on piano; Alexis Korbe on voice, piano and flute; Gene Dowdy on violin; Adalee Kovar, soprano; and Whit Matteson on piano.
The museum is now preparing for a visit from Ol’ Saint Nick this Saturday, when he will emerge from his North Pole workshop for a visit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Christmas crafts will also be available in the Twiga Cafe´.
