Christina C. Ryrholm
August 14, 1945 ~ December 16, 2023

Christina C. Ryrholm passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 12:30 a.m., after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Christina was born August 14, 1945, in Bakersfield, California. She grew up in Saudi Arabia, where her father was an executive of the Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco). As was the custom, she attended boarding school from her sophomore to her senior years of high school at Dana Hall, in Massachusetts. She attended the University of California Riverside, and graduated from San Diego State University.
A long-time resident of Boerne, she enjoyed a successful three-decade career in Texas as a beloved publisher and editor of The Bandera Review, The Bandera Bulletin, and the Hill Country Weekly newspapers.
She was the eldest daughter of Robert and Anita Ryrholm, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Camille Contrearas.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie Willen, of Arkansas; sisters Diana Ryrholm Geerdes, of California, and Erica Ryrholm, of Arizona; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her partner James Tracy.
Christina was loved and well-respected by family and her many friends, colleagues and associates in Boerne, Bandera, and around the world.
She requested that her cremated remains be spread in and around Bandera and Boerne. A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
Special thanks to VITAS Hospice Care in San Antonio.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the staff of Holt & Holt Funeral Home of Boerne. To share words of comfort with the family, please visit www.holtfh.com.
