Recycling gets initial payoff for Bandera County
Contributed
After a year of kick-starting recycling in Bandera County, Don’t Mess With Bandera sent off the first load of 48 cardboard bales for delivery to a recycling plant in Oklahoma.
Bandera County residents have been bringing corrugated cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles to the recycling center at Mansfield Park since late 2022, when recycling resumed in the county. Proceeds from the recycling will go to the county for use in the recycling effort.
Don’t Mess With Bandera is a not-for-profit volunteer organization that recycles cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles, cleans trash from county roadsides, and cleans trash and junk from the yards of elderly or disabled persons unable to do so themselves.
