Medina Bobcat basketball advances to the state playoffs
Softball begins season with three wins

By Lindsey Kunz
MISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

Medina Sports had a victorious week. Bobcat Basketball defeated D’Hanis on Friday, Feb. 16, to earn the third place seed entering the Texas State Playoffs. The game was a back-and-forth battle throughout with the Bobcats pulling away in the final minutes to take the game by a score of 62-53.
“It was a great game to end our regular season with. We started out being down by six, but just as they have done all season long, the boys put up a great fight and trusted in each other and they pulled out a big win,” Bobcat Head Coach Cole Brown said. “I’m extremely proud of them, and looking forward to seeing their fight in the playoffs.”
In Lady Cat action, the softball team began their season with three wins.  On Tuesday, Feb. 13, the Lady Cats opened the season with a 16-0 shutout against Knippa. Wins 2 and 3 came later in the week with a 8-6 victory over Marble Falls and a 2-1 win versus San Antonio West Campus.
“We have a solid group of returners and I’m asking a lot out of some of our younger players,” Head Coach Chris Pace said about the season’s start. “The stage is set for us to have a very good season.”
