Las Vegas Style entertainment to return to Lakehills Community Center in May
The Lakehills Community Center will again host a true Las Vegas style entertainment show for their 2024 Capital Improvements Program(s).
Back for his second engagement and by popular demand, “Gary the Showman” will return to the Lakehills Community Center for their 2024 annual Gala, which will include a resort casino-style catered meal served by waitstaff, Las-Vegas style entertainment, and dancing. The Gala will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 6 p.m.
“We are pleased to announce the return of ‘Gary the Showman’ to the Community Center Gala again for 2024. Last year, we literally sold out of tickets due to the popularity of this entertainment. Our neighbors dressed in their best to attend and were not disappointed by his live act featuring Elvis, as well as other 50s, 60s, and 70s hits, along with a fantastic dance routine. After last years Gala and the word spread about the quality of his act, many people were disappointed that they could not attend and expressed a desire to see Gary return. We shared the same desire so are happy to welcome him back for a quality of evening of good, entertainment, and dancing!” Barbara Engel, one of the Gala organizers, said.
“For decades, the current kitchen has served us well through over 40 years of Cajun Festival and other events. We were smaller in the 1980s when all these benefits began, and a lot of the kitchen equipment was residential in design. To increase the scope and productivity during our Cajun Festival, wedding functions, and other events, the Community Center Kitchen needs major electrical and equipment upgrades. The funds garnered from this annual fun Gala will be used exclusively for those upgrades. It is a terrific opportunity to have a fun time with neighbors who wear more formal attire, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner that parallels our annual Cajun delicacies, and to enjoy a quality live entertainment act,” Lakehills Community Center President Kelly Beedle said.
“I was at Gary’s show in 2023 and it was a definite ‘rock the house’ Las Vegas style event that was enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age. The volunteers sure made our Community Center into a true Las Vegas type venue with formal dinner, waitstaff, quality food, and a ‘big bang Las Vegas feel’ with Gary as our entertainer. Like his name, he does not disappoint as he is a true ‘Showman.’ According to his entertainment bio, Gary Garcia, “ has been the front man for various big bands in Texas over the last 10 years. In more recent years, Gary has cultivated and perfected his solo act covering genres to include but not limited to Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bruno Mars, and Earth, Wind, and Fire just to name a few. He has been a Carnival Cruise line entertainer for the last five years and performs at various events all over the United States, to include private events, fundraisers (such as this event) corporate parties, and special events for cities and municipalities. Gary participated in the Texas Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist competition in Dallas. Although it was his first opportunity, he made it to the final round and was awarded a top finalist in the state-wide competition,” Ron Clarke, a member of the Community Center’s marketing group, said. “With more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Gary has earned and is widely known as “Gary the Showman,” a name fitting this true entertainer. Anyone who has seen The Showman can attest to the fact that Gary does not disappoint. He’s a true performer with the looks, the voice, and the dance moves to prove it.”
