The Bandera boys track and field team split up last week with some athletes competing in Devine and others competing at the Texas State University meet, and the Bulldogs continued to show improvement with a number of personal best finishes.
At Texas State, the 4x100m relay team including Breydan Gherman, Colton Boyd, Sam Snavely and Tyler Quinn placed 3rd. Gherman was 6th in the open 100m dash, Boyd was 5th in the open 200m dash with a PR of 23.43, Snavely was 5th in the open 400m run, and Esteban Leyva finished 3rd in the 300m hurdles.
Senior Mariano Casas placed 1st in the 800m run and 6th in the 1600m run to round out the effort for the Bulldogs.

“I loved what I saw from our group in Devine,” Farrell said. “The young guys showed that we have some strong depth and are only going to improve at district in the next few years.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at the Randolph meet on Thursday as they continue to prepare for the District 27-4A Track Meet in April.
“I’m looking to see our relay handoffs be polished at Randolph,” Farrell said. “We also want to see everyone to hit some season bests – it’s going to be a competitive meet.”
