Clinic beyond hoppy with Bunny Run results

By Jessica Nohealapa’ahi

Counting 102 entrants in Saturday’s Bandera Bunny Run/Walk 5K fundraiser benefitting the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, organizer Susan Broa said participation more than doubled from last year.
“As far as people coming in, sponsorships and the support from the community, it was wonderful,” Broa said.
The accounting has not been completed, so a full tally was not yet available. Broa said proceeds would help patients receive needed medical specialty care that they otherwise could not afford.
The annual race charted a course in front of the Bandera County courthouse, through the center of town, and along the Medina River. Medals were awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 10-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up. All children participants received a ribbon.
The Nagel Clinic is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit clinic that providies no-cost primary and preventive care, plus mental health counseling for county residents who meet certain income guidelines. The clinic serves its patients at 4,000 appointments each year and delivers 5,000 distinct medical services. The clinic relies on private donations to provide these health care services.
