Mental health workshops set during Mental Health Awareness Month

During May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, FaithfulRecovery, in partnership with SJRC / Belong, is hosting free community workshops.
On Saturday, May 4, FaithfulRecovery hosted a workshop at the Lakeshore VFD.
“We had a good turn out and there was some great information on Adverse Childhood Experiences, how family and friends can be positive support to their family and friends living with mental health conditions, as well as breaking stigmas on Mental Health Conditions and 12 step recovery. We had some great support from our community partners. AACOG came out, MHDD joined us, Haven for Hope brought their wonderful Mangonadas to share,” FaithfulRecovery Founder Sabrina Van De Walle said.
The next workshop is set for Thursday, May 9, in the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library Community Room.
At 10 a.m., SJRC (formerly St. Jude’s Ranch for Children) will present ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences); at 11 a.m., NAMI of Greater Fredericksburg will present Friends and Family; and at noon, FaithfulRecovery will present Breaking Stigmas of Mental Health and 12 Step Recovery.
For those who cannot physically attend, the workshop will be available via Zoom. Go to https://givebutter.com/MHAM2024 for free digital tickets.
On Thursday, May 23, a workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Lakehills Community Center. Go to tx.frhillcountry.com for more information.
