Early voters headed to the polls on Monday, tallying 337 votes at the end of the first day of early voting in the Bandera County primary run-off election, in which Sheriff Dan Butts and challenger Josh Teitge are facing off for the office of county sheriff.
Broken down, ballots cast at the Lakehills Area Library totaled 100; the Ray Mauer Annex totaled 204; and the Medina Annex totaled 33.
Voters may still cast their ballots in the run-off election, even if they did not vote in the primary election, Bandera County Election Official Andrea Jankoski said.
Early voting will continue through Friday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The main early voting site is the Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th Street, Bandera. Branch sites are at the Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills; and the Medina Annex, 161 E. Parker St. Medina.
