Authorities extradite suspect from Oklahoma, book her into Bandera County jail

Six-months after issuing a warrant for her arrest, authorities have extradited suspect Freda Thomas, who was arrested in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on Monday, and booked her into the Bandera County Jail.
On Wednesday, May 22, Bandera County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jerry Johnson and Texas Ranger Daniel MacMillon traveled to Oklahoma to interview Thomas, and drove her back to Bandera County. Thomas waived an extradition hearing, Bandera County Sheriff Dan Butts reported.
Thomas is being investigated in connection with the 2023 murder of 88-year-old Bandera man Robert Isaacks, who was reported missing from his home in the Flying L on Nov. 15, 2023. His body was recovered two days later in Crockett County. Authorities said Isaacks’ Jeep was found abandoned in Las Vegas.
In April, local investigators received false information that Thomas had been arrested in Mexico, sending authorities on an international wild goose chase before discovering that the woman in custody was not Thomas. Butts said investigators received information that Thomas was in Oklahoma, which was shared with Oklahoma authorities, leading to her arrest.
“We are still investigating the case,” Butts said.
