CALL FOR APPLICANTS- City Council Seat

​The City of Bandera is looking to fill a vacancy on the City Council. The City Council may fill the vacancy by appointment. The person appointed to fill the vacant seat would volunteer their time, experience, knowledge, and serve until the next regular municipal election, which will be held in November 2023.
City Councilmembers are the city’s legislators. It is the Council’s responsibility to identify the needs of the citizens and to formulate a plan to meet those needs. Policymaking is a complicated process but can be simplified if the city council works together as a team and sets goals for the city. There are many legal, financial, and administrative considerations to implementing the goals of the city.

Eligibility requirements include:
• Be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old
• Be a registered voter and a legal resident in the City of Bandera.
City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at City Hall, located at 511 Main Street, Bandera, Texas. Special meetings and workshops can be called at any time.

The Council will be filling the empty seat at the 1st City Council meeting in July 2023. The last day to turn in your application will be Monday July 10, 2023 at 5 p.m. Applications are available on the website at www.cityofbandera.org or a hard copy can be picked up at City Hall. Completed applications can be returned to the City Secretary’s office @ [email protected] or at 511 Main Street.
